Petrol opens the last three of ten completely renovated points of sale of the future in Croatia

A wow customer experience to become the first choice for shopping on the go

The Petrol Group, the second largest petroleum product seller and one of the leading energy companies in Croatia, has officially opened three of a total of ten completely renovated, modern and innovative points of sale of the future at the Helena West location, thereby fulfilling its promise to consolidate its position in Croatia in line with its strategic initiative – points of sale of the future. All ten new points of sale offer a wide product mix, boast modern architecture, and have an option to include alternative energy sources. By bringing together the best of both worlds (Petrol and Crodux), the Petrol Group aims to become the first choice for shopping on the go, offering its customers an excellent experience.

In line with its vision, the Petrol Group endeavours to provide its customers with a unique experience at its points of sale, including in Croatia where the guests, from Management Board members, local community leaders and top managers of companies and the energy sector, were able to experience that during the opening of the renovated Helena West point of sale.

“The opening of the Helena West and East, and Desinec North points of sale is an important step on Petrol’s way to achieving its strategic targets. Our commitment to provide a comprehensive energy product mix and high-quality products and services, by focusing on the customer, permeates all aspects of our operations. Helena West is one of the three completely renovated points of sale which offers a top-notch customer experience under one roof. All ten points of sale which have been renovated this year emphasise our commitment to sustainability, modernisation, and digitalisation; this way we are building a future where we want to be the leading seller of petroleum products and sustainable energy solutions and services on the go. Our commitment to achieving strategic targets is reflected in on-going investments in the green energy generation, the expansion of the energy solutions network and the digitalisation of our operations. We are consolidating our role as a key player in the energy transition which is also attested by two wind parks in the area of the Šibenik-Knin County and the planning of a solar park. Our competitiveness and contribution to the society are seen through our prudent management which protects our employees and fosters business partnerships,” emphasised Nada Drobne Popović, President of the Management Board of the Petrol Group.

The Helena East and West, and Desinec North points of sale have undergone complete renovation. In addition to Petrol’s Fresh brand, the renovated points of sale now include the popular fast-food restaurant McDonald's to cater for the different tastes and requests of customers.

“This year, we have renovated three points of sale near Zagreb (Helena West and East, and Desinec North), three in Istria (Labin, Pula Mutilska, and Umag), and three in Dalmatia which already have and will undergo complete architectural renovation. This way, we are connecting the best from both worlds, Petrol’s and Crodux’s, thereby ensuring quality, stability and customer loyalty at 202 points of sale with 2,000 employees throughout Croatia. The renovated points of sale are a symbol of our commitment to conducting responsible operations and an approach which will set the course for our future. With a passion for sustainability, the points of sale such as Helena West also include alternative types of energy and the latest technologies which will help us achieve a green and sustainable future,” said Simona Kostrevc, President of the Management Board of Petrol in Croatia.

In addition to selling high-quality Q Max fuels which can be easily paid via the On The Go app, the points of sale also include electric vehicle charging points. It is Petrol’s wish that these be supplied by energy obtained from sustainable sources and to this end, Petrol is already performing activities in order to prepare the documentation and obtain permits to instal photovoltaic power plants on rooftops of its points of sale in the context of the Petrol Green project.

The opening of the new Helena West point of sale, covering a surface area of more than 600 m2, was also an opportunity to promote corporate social responsibility and to thank the community where the renovated point of sale is located. On this opportunity, financial support was given to the fire brigade of the city of Sveti Ivan Zeline to purchase high-quality equipment and to perform maintenance works on rescue vehicles, which corresponds to the Petrol Group’s values. This will be an important contribution to their basic mission, which is to ensure safety in the community, Petrol being a part of it.

The Helena West point of sale is not just a point of sale, but also a symbol of the Petrol Group’s commitment to creating a better and greener future. In addition to investing in employees and building modern points of sale, the Petrol Group endeavours to build a retail network with 627 modern points of sale by 2025 which will serve as one-stop shops and offer a unique customer experience.

Renovation of points of sale in Slovenia

Petrol is also building modern points of sale in Slovenia. In July, building works started at two locations on the southern Ljubljana ring road – Barje South and North. The two new points of sale will open at the end of this year and offer their customers a wide range of products and services, traditional and alternative fuels, but what will truly make them unique is that visitors will be able to choose from three different food providers, Fresh, Marche and McDonald's, in one place covering a surface area of more than 1,000 m2.
